Social Welfare of Ayios Dhometios

The Welfare service:

• examines the social needs of the locality, aching to satisfy them in accordance with the social policy of the Municipality, taking into consideration, nevertheless, its capacity and capabilities

• offers social services to citizens who need care and support, by instituting and operating projects and activities, which for example concern old citizens and children

• contributes to the decentralization of welfare, which is aimed at preventing certain social problems

• cooperates with the Social Welfare Department, other relevant institutions, local volunteer organizations, in order to coordinate the supply of social services and organize certain social events and activities

• offers information to all citizens for the existing social services and encourages the use of other specialized services, conserning drug abuse, benefits, mental health etc.

• organizes lectures on social issues

• operates projects concerning social welfare provision:
